It’s a wrap on 2nd grade
I can’t believe we are here, friends! I seriously can’t believe Caroline has finished 2nd grade!
This year has been amazing and exhausting all in the same breath.
Caroline accomplished so many things this year…
to name a few:
- Saint’s Project
- Famous American’s Project
- First Reconciliation
- First Communion
- May Crowning Mass
This year was just so very, very busy and so much fun! So let’s start with a fun review, month by month, because I need to document this year somehow!
August

Here we are on the first day! And oh my how she has grown! Not only has Caroline grown, but look at sweet little Kate! This was my last first day of school with her at home. Cue the tears and all the feelings!

Here we are picking Caroline up from school that day! So excited to see our sweet girl!

We started the year strong with lots of birthday parties, and here is one of them!
September
Caroline’s school has Mass once a week, but once a month, they also host a prayer service. This month was Caroline’s class’s turn.

October

Caroline learned how to ride her bike on her own in October! I was soooo proud of her. This was something that was so big for her to overcome. She didn’t want to learn for so long, then all of a sudden she wanted to learn and hasn’t stopped riding her bike since.

Caroline’s class had their fun field trip this year to Cracker Country at the Florida State Fairgrounds. She loved it so much!

Another fun moment in October was the character parade at school! Caroline’s class had to represent a Magic Tree House book, and Caroline chose Pirates Past Noon.
Later that same day, we had Trunk or Treat at school.

November
November brought on Caroline’s first big project-Saints’ Project. Caroline chose St. Kateri Tekakwitha.

In November, Caroline also got her ears pierced!

Her little friend also got her ears pierced at the same time! It was such a fun, special experience!
December

In December, Caroline got to walk in our town’s Christmas parade with her Brownie troop. She loves this every year, and thankfully, John walks with her.

Then we were off to her Christmas dance recital.

In December, Caroline also had her school Christmas concert.
January

January brought new and fun things, too, like Caroline learning how to jump rope!

We also celebrated her 8th birthday at the American Girl Doll Store in Orlando!

Kate and I got to pretend to be Caroline’s grandparents on Grandparents’ Day at her school because her grandparents weren’t able to attend.
February

Famous American project was in February, and it was her biggest project and public speaking assignment up until that time. We were so proud of our Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. It was amazing to watch her complete all the research, writing, and presentation.

At the end of the month, Caroline bravely completed her First Reconciliation. We were so very proud of her for doing this.
March

The annual Daddy-Daughter event was held at school in March. They got to have fun throwing color bombs at each other.
Caroline also learned how to rollerblade this year! I’m telling you, this was a year of learning and growing like I’ve never seen!

April

In April, Caroline had her First Communion. This was such a special and memorable day in every way.
May
We had the Mother-Daughter Tea starting in May!

Followed closely by the May Crowning Mass, where Caroline was chosen to read the first reading at Mass. This was such a huge task. The reading was very difficult and very long. I was so proud of her!
And last but not least, the last day of school!

We are so proud of our sweet 2nd grader! She did so many things this year and grew in so many ways. Caroline told us today that this was her favorite school year so far, and I think I agree with her. It was so busy, and so many things were going on, but wow, the growth she made and the person she is becoming is truly a blessing!
