What’s Up Wednesday {8.26.20}

It’s What’s Up Wednesday!!!!
And might I add, how is it the end of August? It feels like I just wrote July’s What’s Up Wednesday.
Let’s get to it! I love these fun link-ups!
What we’re eating this week:
This week one of the meals we are eating is one of favorite easy meals lately. Each ingrident comes from Costco and is from our freezer! And I have to say, that makes me very happy lol!
Each month when I go to Costco I pick up a box of Orange Chicken, a box of Egg Rolls, and a bag of Broccoli.
I make this super simple meal by putting the chicken and egg rolls both in the oven and boiling the broccoli. It’s delicious and simple and I bet it would be really really good in an air fryer! I need to get one of those!
What I’m Reminiscing about:

This past weekend John and I went kayaking on the Weeki Wachee and it was so fun! The small 6 mile trip down the river went by pretty fast because the current was flowing at a pretty good speed so we made it down the river in about 2 hours with little paddling.

Gosh it was just so beautiful though! Take a look!

What I’m loving:
I’m loving the two items I got at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

These earrings are just so cute and these slippers are super comfy but not as comfy as my Uggs.
What we’ve been up to:

Any activity that is outside related and you don’t have to wear a mask you can find us there! A couple of weekends ago we went to Bok Tower with family which was amazing!
And like I said before, we went Kayaking last weekend. Another outdoor, no mask activity!
Caroline and I have also been trying to get to the pool anytime it’s not raining. I know summer weather won’t be around forever so I’m hoping to get in more pool days than not.
What I’m dreading:
Hmmm….I need to take Caroline back for a make up day for swim lessons and I’m totally dreading that. She ended on a high note but I just know she will not be happy to go back even for just one 10 minute lesson.
What I’m working on:
Have you seen? I’m redoing my whole site!!!! I’m sooo excited!!! I’m really working so hard. It’s been so fun but gosh it’s lots of work.
What I’m excited about:

I’m super excited about Fall! I love Fall and everything about it. I totally dream/pretend we live in a place where the leaves turn colors and acutally fall. 😂But seriously I’m so excited for the small change in season and the fall decorations and all things PUMPKIN!!!🎃
What I’m Reading/Watching:
I’m pretty excited about the books I read this past month!!! I will be doing a book review on Monday! YAY!
We just started watching Schitt’s Creek and so far it’s pretty funny!

And we recently watched Murder on the Orient Express….gosh that is such a good movie and I totally wish I would have read the book first.

We also watched the Michael Jordan docuseries on Netflix The Last Dance, and wow if you want to up your game in any area of your life you need to check this out. I knew Michael Jordan was a phenomenal athlete but his drive and determination is unparallel and so inspiring. You need to check it out!
What I’m listening to:
I’m listening to all my audible books, Michael Buble radio, French Cooking radio, and some new fun kid’s music like the Laurie Berkner Band.
If you have a little one you need to check her out, your kiddo will LOVE these songs. We have so much fun running around singing these songs! So stinking cute, it reminds me of the year I taught Pre-School.
What I’m Wearing:

Lots of bathing suits, workout clothes, and comfy pajamas!
What I’m doing this weekend:
We are taking it easy this weekend. Pool, Mass, Saturday Date Night at home, and fun together–just our normal pandemic weekend.
What I’m looking forward to next month:
I’m super excited to try and head back out to our zoo and aquarium and maybe even Disney World….not sure if we should venture out there but gosh we miss it so much and it looks pretty empty anytime I watch a YouTube video of the park… so we may just take a chance. I don’t know, what do you think? What would you do? We live only an hour away and Caroline and I could go during the week which I think would be even less crowded.
What else is new:

Caroline has a cute little recital today for the end of her summer dance class. Then she will be starting ballet and tumbling in September which she is super excited about. And I’m very excited to continue to share some of the great projects I’m working on here at Simply Holley Marie! YAY!
I hope you have the best Wednesday! And don’t forget to link up for What’s Up Wednesday and Wednesday Link-Up!

About Me

I'm Holley, I am a wife and mom who loves making each day enjoyable for my family! I'm so glad you are here! I hope you find ways to make your life simple, fun and organized! Enjoy!!!
Your kayak trip looks heavenly! I agree — any outdoor activity where we don’t have to wear a mask is the way to go these days.
It really was. It was so beautiful and the water was so cold because it’s a spring!
We went down that same spring on our last Tampa/Florida trip and saw a manatee!! We also had jumping fish flopping over the kayaks at one point. It was a beautiful day though and such a pretty area. In all honestly I would totally be at Disney if we lived closer; all the pictures and things make it look pretty empty and so much of it is outside too.
Yeah, that is what I think and if I go on a weekday I think it would super super empty. We’ll see! So fun you went on the Weeki Wachee too! I love it! We didn’t get to see Manatees but we saw sooo many fish! Love it!
That float trip looks amazing! And I would totally go to Disney, LOL! We are so far from it that I would jump at the chance being an hour away but I totally get that it’s in your backyard pretty much. How fun for you all!
Thanks! I love that you guys are telling me to go to Disney! I made a reservation to go in September so I’m hoping I still feel confident when it’s time to go! You guys are helping me be braver! Thanks! 🙂
Your face in the cold water cracked me up…been there, done that and know it’s that cold!! Especially for us Florida girls 😂
I was cracking up when I looked at the pics on my husband’s phone because I didn’t know he got pics of me getting in the water. 😂 I was so cold all I could think was this is soooo cold!!!!
Although we do not live in Florida, (Georgia) we have Disney passes and went in July! It was so much fun and I certainly felt safer there than I do at Wal-Mart! Go and enjoy the smaller crowds!
Oh my gosh, Summer! Thank you so much! That makes me feel better! How fun btw that you have passes and you live in GA!
