What’s Up Wednesday {6.26.19}
1. WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
This week we are eating some yummy meals! And some good homemade go-to meals made especially by my mom. 🙂
Check out my Weekly Meals Plan and Shopping List if you’re looking for meal ideas.
2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
It seems like every June I start singing Christmas songs… is that weird?! So part of me is reminiscing about Christmastime. Maybe it’s the summer Florida heat that’s getting to me. Haha!
Hmm… what else am I reminiscing about…the days Caroline used to go to sleep without crying. I’m writing this in a moment of weakness, a moment of my daughter crying through two naps the past two days and crying for about an hour before falling asleep the night before. Gosh, these sleep regressions are absolutely no fun! Our sweet Caroline was/is seriously such a good sleeper but wow mama is having a hard time with this one.
3. WHAT I’M LOVING:
My mom is in town! It’s been so fun to have her visiting us and I’m soaking up every moment I can.
4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
We haven’t been doing too much this month. Just taking it easy and doing lots of shopping with my mom.
Father’s Day was also super fun even though it rained and we didn’t get to go in the pool.
5. WHAT I’M DREADING:
In this moment right now…haha…the next nap time. I can’t believe I’m saying that. I LOVE nap time but man Caroline has really been giving it to me. Crying and screaming is almost an understatement. I keep telling myself she’ll get through this rough patch but when you’re in it, it feels like it’s going on forever! I keep reminding myself to stick to our routine.
6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Weekly newsletter emails for my blog! I’ve sent out two newsletters so far and can’t wait to send out more filled with fun things and little details about what’s going on in our lives and how I’m working to make it more simple, organized, and fun.
7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
My new wallet! It’s so nice! I’ve wanted one of these for some time and while we were at the Kate Spade outlet the other day they put these out right before we walked in. They were only $39! Can you believe that?! What a steal!
8. WHAT I’M READING/WATCHING:

via ABC
The Bachelorette of course! John and I are super weird, we record it then watch half of it one night and half the next night and avoid all media and news about the series in the in-between. HAHA! I just hate going to bed too late because we wake up so early. So that’s our way of still getting to bed at a good time. Thank you, DVR!
I’m also still watching Jane the Virgin. It just gets better each season.
Reading…oh I love reading. I’m reading this book right now
and finishing up a book I started last month. So so good!
9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
My daughter cry it out. It’s so sad but I told myself when I started this blog I’d be super honest. It has only been one day of her intensely crying but gosh it’s awful. I don’t know what the heck is going on. She used to put herself to sleep every day and now she’s decided she wants to cry and scream instead of going to sleep. I think it’s the 18-month sleep regression…at least that’s what I’m blaming it on. God Bless her, myself, my husband, and my mom–while she’s here. I’m working on the walk away method, seems to be doing ok right now. Any other mommies out there with a sleep regression kiddo? I feel your pain.
A little update right before I post, I wrote this Tuesday during one of her naps that she cried pretty much the entire way through and last night when I went to put her down she only whimpered a little. I was so thankful. Lots of prayers and dedication happening over here. I’m so proud of sweet Caroline.
10. WHAT I’M WEARING:
I got these shorts the other day from the Loft and I LOVE them. I needed some new jean shorts to wear as I try to lose some of this baby weight that I gained after weaning Caroline from breastfeeding. Oh, motherhood. 🙂
11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
Celebrating my brother-in-law’s 30th birthday!
12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
The 4th of July is always a fun day with barbeque, pool, and good beer.
13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Hmmm…that about wraps it up!
Enjoy your Wednesday! I know I will! I’m getting my hair cut and highlighted! YAY!!!
XO,
holley

About Me

I'm Holley, I am a wife and mom who loves making each day enjoyable for my family! I'm so glad you are here! I hope you find ways to make your life simple, fun and organized! Enjoy!!!
Sleep regressions are hard. My kids are 8 and 10 and I still remember those days. Hang in there mama — you can do this.
They are! Thanks so much!
I just went through that sleep regression stage as well with my daughter. It lasted about 2 weeks for us and then it was just over. Hang in there, you’ve got this! I started laughing about the Christmas songs too because I am reading The Winter Street Series by Elin Hilderbrand right now while it’s hotter than blazes here in California!!
Thank you so much, Leslie! It’s so nice to know there are other mamas going through this or have been through it. Love Elin Hilderbrand! I’m all for escaping the heat in any way, even in a fairytale kinda way! haha!
