What’s Up Wednesday {6.24.20}

Happy Wednesday and Happy Midsummer’s Day!

I’m so excited to be blogging today!

Changing my blog name has taken so much more work than I ever thought and when I don’t have much time in my day to blog anyway lots of my time is taken by changing all the things for Simply Holley Marie.

Well, I’m here today and I’m excited to be blogging for What’s Up Wednesday! Always one of my favorite posts of the month! Thanks, Shay!

1. What we’re eating this week:

Since the quarantine life, I haven’t been on my meal planning game. Meal planning for me has looked so different as I try to not go to the store often. One thing I’ve been loving are sheet pan meals. So easy and so good!

And popcorn with some M&Ms have been a go to snack of mine.

2. What I’m Reminiscing about:

I’ve been reminiscing about Caroline’s 2nd birthday lately. Gosh, I truly hate that we missed out on some fun Disney moments during this quarantine but I know it was for the better of everyone’s health.

I’m also reminiscing about my birthday week and how much fun we had!

3. WHAT I’M LOVING:

Still loving this deodorant.

And all my AMAZING finds at the Loft.

And Audible!!!

And just how sweet this guy is. On the Friday before Father’s Day he brought home cards for Caroline and me and flowers for Caroline thanking us for making him a dad. Gosh so darn sweet!

4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

Lots and lots of swimming! Swim lessons, swimming at my in-laws, and now swimming at our community pool! YAY!

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:

Hmmm….well Monday-Thursday I kinda dread swim lessons because even though Caroline loves to be in the pool with us she cries at every single swim lesson. Bless her little heart. I think it’s just routine for her now. Yesterday was actually better though. Two more days then we are done!

6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

Switching everything over to Simply Holley Marie and cleaning up all of our digital files. Every summer I take time to organize and get rid of things and right now I’m working on scanning documents and cleaning the computers out! AHH!

7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

My sister, mom, and dad will be visiting soon!!!!!!!! I’m so stinking EXCITED to see them!!!!

I’m also beyond excited that our pool and playgrounds are now open in our neighborhood!!!

8. WHAT I’M Reading/watching:

Oh you guys! I’m reading so MUCH! I seriously cannot believe how much I’m getting through in part to Audible. So I guess I’m listening and reading but hey I’m getting through lots and lots of books and I LOVE it!

John and I just finished Parks and Rec for the second time. We watched it a while ago and started watching it again. The funny thing is it was like we were watching it for the first time! So good and so fun!

9. What I’m listening to:

Audio books, audio books, and audio books! I’m addicted! It’s one of the best ways I’m able to get books in. I listen in the car sometimes, while I make dinner, while I run, or while I clean the house. It’s been so nice!

10. WHAT I’M WEARING:

Dresses and fun tops galore and now bathing suits. I need to actually buy another one because two is just not going to cut it this summer.

11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

My sister is coming to town!!!!

12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Caroline starts ballet class. I’m hoping she will love it! And at the end of the month it’s John and I’s 10 year anniversary.

13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW: :

Not too much. I hate that cases are rising around here in the Tampa area.

I hope you guys have a great week! I will be back on Friday with my Friday Favorites!!!

You’re dress from Loft is gorgeous!!! You look absolutely stunning in it. So happy to hear you have family coming to visit. Enjoy having them and stay safe. Cases are increasing here in Orlando too. I’m kind of scared what things will look like once Disney opens…

    • Holley on June 25, 2020 at 6:21 am

Me too! I don’t think we will be going to Disney for a while. Praying the cases begin to decrease.

That’s exciting you’ll be seeing family – we’re headed to see ours at their beach house this weekend! Enjoy!

So fun!! I hope you have a great time!

I feel you 100% on the meal planning. I was just telling B last night that I feel like I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants when it comes to dinner ever since March when everything went crazy from Covid! I’m so glad y’all are doing swimming lessons… it’s so sad when they cry, but it’s so worth it to know that they’ll be safe around water. Olivia has been in lessons for three years but she still HATES putting her face in the water so we’re trying to get her in lessons again this summer.

So glad I’m not the only one flying by the seat of my pants with meal planning! Yes, totally worth it with the swim lessons. I’m so proud of little miss Caroline and myself for getting through it! lol! I hope Olivia will enjoy it this summer!

I couldn’t believe how much work it was to swap out my blog name! I feel like I’m still finding broken links and things that need updating and I changed my blog out in Novemember. Best of luck to you on getting it all done ASAP.

Thanks so much! Lots of work but I love it!

Our pool opens next week and I’m excited on the one hand and sad on the other hand because each family can only sign up for two one hour time slots per week. We’re used to LIVING at the pool in the summer so it’s going to be a long haul… They’re hoping to be able to offer more time slots as the summer progresses so here’s hoping.

    • Holley on June 25, 2020 at 6:29 am

Oh wow! I would be totally disappointed! Hope there are more time slots open as time goes on.
