weekend things 1

What a weekend! Life has been so busy for us, and truthfully, I’ve loved it.

Each weekend since March has been something filled with family. Whether it be First Communion, a family reunion, or getting together to help a loved one, and this weekend was full of family time.

We started with my dad coming to town so he could help my mom’s family clean out my grandparents’ home.

On Saturday, John took the girls to his parents’ house. They had a blast brewing beer with their Grandpa and swimming with their Nana while John got some work done at their house.

I, on the other hand, went to my grandparents’ house to help begin the cleaning-out process. Thankfully, my family is so big, and there were so many of us there Saturday. It made something that is difficult and sad, easier and fun in a way, because we were together.

My cousin Lindsey and I worked on cleaning my grandma’s closet and found fun things and lots of memories.

One of the fun things we found was a box of clothes from our great-great-grandmother. This box of clothing was truly amazing to go through. We even found an old bathing suit. Like one from the 1910s. It was wild to see and hold and to imagine what fun she had in that bathing suit!

That night, my family and dad went to Mass, then came home and cooked steaks and enjoyed delicious drinks together.

Sunday was a lovely day. We started with my favorite egg casserole breakfast before my dad packed up and headed home to Panama City.

After breakfast, John went to visit his grandfather while the girls and I got ready to celebrate my grandmother’s 88th birthday!

When John got home, we ran by Publix so I could pick up flowers, cake, a card, and balloons for my grandmother.

She loves Chantilly cake from Publix, so I made sure to order that earlier in the week so it was ready for pick up.

After we grabbed everything from Publix, we drove to Brandon to celebrate my sweet grandmother.

I was so thankful to be able to do this, as she is in a rehabilitation center. So much of our family was able to attend, and so many of my grandma’s friends. It was truly a lovely time spent together.

It was such a busy weekend, but so so full of love and memories made with our loved ones!

And golly gosh, I hope this is not the first and only blog post of 2026, but here is to hoping lol!

Love this little blog post and if you want to check out what I’ve been up to instead of this blog, check out my other blogs here!

Travel Mom Diaries is a travel blog I’ve been working on and truly love. I love traveling so much, and I’m working hard to become what you would say a travel blogger lol. It’s truly a passion of mine.

And over here on Mini Magical Adventures, I’m trying to chronicle our Disney adventures, all the love I have for this very special place in my heart.

I will say I haven’t been able to pour the time and effort into any of these blogs as I would like to, but it’s been so special to spend time with Kate and Caroline, and especially Kate at home.

Well, my friends, with all my love..
