Let’s Look: Typical Day Edition
I’ve been so excited to write a post like this! They’re my favorite type of posts from other bloggers! I love to get a little sneak peek at what someone’s day is like. Call me weird but I love it!

The day I picked was a Tuesday, and it was a kinda typical day. There were definitely some wrenches thrown in but hey, I think that’s just life with a 17-month-old. So here we go, bear with me as I take you on this little journey we call life in the Cavaliere household. 🙂
Typical Day…well pretty much typical
I wake up in between 4:15 and 5:00 every day. I like to wake up early and get a head start on the day before Caroline wakes up. I am not a naturally early morning riser. Sleeping in is one of my favorite activities, haha…but I’ve realized over time I feel better and get a lot more accomplished when I wake up early.

Here I am pressing the on button for our coffee. I pre-load the coffee the night before. I don’t want to deal with assembling it all so early. Do you see that note on the coffee maker? HAHA! I had to put a post-it there or I totally would have forgotten to take pictures on this day!

While the coffee is brewing, I begin to read my scripture and devotional. Being Catholic, I have pretty sweet scripture readings ready to go from the Daily Mass Readings. YAY! I read them on Blessed Is She website, then I read the devotional. They are usually really good!

After I read, I get myself some coffee have a little prayerful quiet time then begin to read an inspirational book whether it be a chapter or a couple of pages, I chug away at it each day. Right now I’m reading The Wisdom of OZ. Do you wanna know where I bought this?! The DOLLAR TREE! So good for only $1! I will always be checking their books out now.

After reading, I begin to work on blog stuff! 🙂

On a typical day, Caroline sleeps till about 6:30/7:00 but this day she woke at about 5:00. We had her lay in bed till 6:00 though. And at 6:00 my husband went upstairs and got her so we could all pray morning prayer together. John and I have prayed morning prayer together since the very first year of our marriage. It’s something so consistent and we LOVE it.

When we end prayer, John usually makes his breakfast (he has done about a million things before this it feels like, he also wakes up at the same time I do if not before) and I start my workout. This day I had little miss with me so that always makes things a little more crazy for a workout.

After all this John is usually about ready to leave for work and we say our sweet goodbyes. I can then hop in the shower while sweet Caroline plays. Then we head down for our yummy breakfast!

We eat this just about every day and we share each other’s food. She likes mine and I like her’s. 🙂 While we eat breakfast, we watch the Today Show but since we have Direct TV we don’t have NBC right now because of some contract thing. I’m actually pretty upset about it but what can ya do, I’m sure it’ll be back soon.

After breakfast, I get some house chores done then Caroline and I get ready to leave. On a typical day, we either go run errands or see some friends or a mixture of both. Today we ran errands.

To the mall we went.

When we got home I fed Caroline her lunch. I usually eat lunch with Caroline but I wasn’t hungry yet so I skipped.
And down for a nap she went.

If I don’t eat with Caroline, I’ll fix my lunch while she’s napping. A little snack plate for lunch today. 🙂 While Caroline is napping, I start up some more work on blogging stuff.

When Caroline wakes up I usually give her a snack and we either hang out or run more errands. This day we went to the post office, ran by Target, and went on a walk. 🙂

By the time we get home, we have a little waiting to do till John gets home. So we read, play, clean up, do chores, and cook dinner. We are always so excited when John gets home! And our tummies are too! Dinner is always better together. 🙂
After dinner, we have our night routine with little Caroline. This time is so sweet with our little baby! And when she’s down, it’s time for John and me to talk, read, and watch something on TV all before we hit the bed at 9:30/10:00.
I realized at the end of this that I didn’t take pictures once we got home from Target. I honestly try to stay away from my phone by early evening or maybe even the late afternoon. I feel like I’m in front a screen often and I try to give Caroline more time and myself a break too. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this typical day in our life! I know I’m going to look back at these times with Caroline as a baby and have sweet warm memories.
XO,
holley

About Me

I'm Holley, I am a wife and mom who loves making each day enjoyable for my family! I'm so glad you are here! I hope you find ways to make your life simple, fun and organized! Enjoy!!!
I remember those days! It seems like even though my boys are so much older we are still either running errands or hanging out with friends most days.
Love it! I love to see a day in the life of all stages! Wish I would’ve been writing these when Caroline was just an infant. 🙂 Thanks for reading!
You will enjoy reading and remembering these memories when Caroline is older! Enjoy every moment!
Oh my goodness so early! I think it’s awesome how much you can get done because of waking up early (even with company!)
We’re still in the waking up several times at night, and sometimes the best sleep I get is from 7-8:30, when my husband has the boys before he goes to work. Some day I’ll be able to get up early and make it to the 5:45 a.m. classes at the gym! 🙂
I always believe you have to get sleep when you can! Trust me, I didn’t wake up like this when Caroline was first born. I started waking early again when she was about 4 months old. 🙂 But nobody is judging those who sleep in! I LOVE sleeping and definitely always give yourself Grace! I remind myself this often.
I remember those days with just 1 kiddo and boy, do I wish I was that productive then! Way to go, mama! (And I love that you got a book from Dollar Tree–they really do have some gems hidden away in there!;)
Thanks Kasie! I definitely need to take advantage for sure of only having one kiddo right now! I know Dollar Tree, AMAZING! lol! Thanks for reading!
