Our Trip to PC and the Stomach Bug!

Hi, my friends! I have totally been MIA for the past couple of days due to the awful horrendous stomach bug!

Poor Caroline caught the stomach bug as we were leaving Panama City and gosh you guys it was so sad and awful. All I wanted to do was be home, close to her doctor, close to her bed and ours, and have the ability to hold her.

Let me tell you though she was a trooper and my husband was too.

I wanted to do a quick recap of our little trip to Panama City and my sister’s baby shower.

I realized I didn’t take too many pictures but I thought I’d share what I do have.

Coffee, yoga pants, and sweater! Ready for a road trip!

We left on Saturday morning around 7:30 and actually had an unbelievably great trip up! John and I listened to this amazing podcast all about Dolly Parton until we hit Lake City while our sweet girl slept in the back, I even got to sit up front for about 3 hours! Woo hoo!

Once we got to Lake City we grabbed Chick-Fil-A, of course, and I sat in the back with sweet Caroline. She happily ate her Chick-Fil-A, wacthed Frozen about 3 times, and played with all the fun toys we bought at the Dollar Tree.

I was soooo soooo happy this sweet girl was happy. In times past taking road trips with her has not been easy but this time it was great! I was so proud of her and so thankful that we had a peaceful trip up.

Not only was it peaceful but we made it to Panama City by 12:30! We couldn’t believe it with only 2 stops and no traffic!

Our first stop was my Grandma’s house, my dad has been working so hard to make repairs after the hurricane and it looks so good. The progress he’s made is amazing.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures of the house. But if you haven’t seen the damage Hurricane Michael did to the area of Panama City, FL I think you would be amazed. It was such a powerful storm that truly altered people’s lives forever.

After seeing my dad we went to the house unpacked and I went back out to shop at Publix for the ingredients I needed for the shower.

At home, I began to prepare the dishes and then we headed off to Mass.

After Mass we had dinner at my parents and all my siblings were together. So sad we didn’t get a pic! But Caroline and her cousin Asher had the best little time together!

At one point Caroline held Asher’s hand and walked all over the living room with him! We couldn’t believe! That moment alone made the night!

Sunday was the big day for Emily’s Shower! I made my last-minute dishes that morning and got ready. We actually had lots of time to spare because of the time change so we squeezed in taking out Christmas card pictures!

It was cold and windy and taking pictures with a toddler is not the easiest thing in the world but we did it, thanks to my sister and her friend Kasey!

I arrived at the shower early to help get the food ready. So beautiful and fun!

Emily received so many nice presents that packed the car full!

That night we were all together again and Caroline and Asher had so much fun!

Caroline loves her Aunt Emmy and Aunt Emmy’s baby!

The next morning is when that darn stomach bug hit poor little Caroline. Gosh, is it was not fun! I kept wishing there was a magic wand to get us back in an instant like Harry Potter. But there isn’t. We made it home with only a little sickness and several stops.

Once we were home we were on a mission to get Caroline hydrated. Thankfully, Caroline’s doctor called in Zofran for her and she was finally able to keep enough liquid down to have a wet diaper.

I was so worried we were going to have to go get an IV for her. Thank God for Zofran and a great doctor!

In the end, our trip was so great and fun but hard as heck getting home.

I hope you guys are adjusting well to the time change and having a great Thursday!
