Dont’ wait until New Year’s to make new goals! Take some time and make new goals today!
It’s October and that means Fall is here right?
Who am I kidding, I live in Florida and it’s still a million degrees outside! It will be that way for a while but in my mind, there is a change happening.
And in reality, there is a lot of change happening. Kids are back in school, fall decor is coming out, and dare I say Football season is here!
So I’m going to jump out on a limb here and say we need to treat this special time of year the same way we treat New Year’s. We need to look at the start of Fall as a time to make new goals and new resolutions.
And this time they don’t have to be announced to the whole world. There is no need for champange or confetti. Just a journal or piece of paper, some pens, and an imaginative mind!
What do you say…do you want to make a couple of new goals for yourself? I think Fall is the PERFECT time of year to do this!
So let’s try!
Grab your coffee, your favorite pen, a cozy blanket, and a journal or some paper and let’s go!
How to make a goal
Making Goals- Set aside 5 minutes-or more
Get yourself comfortable, put on some music or get in total quiet, grab your favorite writing utensils, and either a journal, paper, or a large poster board and start dreaming!
I’m serious dream. Dream big dreams. Do you want to go to Paris? Do you want to learn to ski? Do you want to have an empty laundry basket at the end of every day?
What do you want?
Write all these things out. Just go and keep going till you are ready to stop.
Making Goals- Grab Your Markers and Circle
Now that you have all these big dreams written down. Start by looking through these and see what you can begin to accomplish immediately. Circle those.
Next, take out another color marker and begin to circle goals/dreams that you think could be accomplished in a month or two.
Finally circle those goals/dreams that will take a year or more to accomplish.
Making Goals- Start working on your goals
Here is the last step to the rest of making a goal for yourself. Place an end date next to each goal.
That’s right do you want to go to Paris, well when do you want to be prancing around the Louvre? Is it in 5 years or 2?
Writing a goal/dream down is empowering and it’s even more empowering when there is a date next to it. It tricks your mind into thinking it needs to be done.
Post these goals/dreams where you can see them every day even if it’s 100 dreams. Just do it. Put it somewhere where you can see it and see the dates you want to hit it by.
I bet you will see big changes just by doing these super simple actions.
Now, actually doing it part is left up to no one but you my friend. That’s right no one but you! You are powerful and can make good decisions. So go be on your way and make your dreams come true!
And share with me some of your goals or dreams if you’d like! I’d love to hear from you!
