Caroline’s 2nd Birthday Part 1

Happy Monday my friends! I’m back! I took a little break from blogging and all things social media for 2 months! And it seems like it’s been forever since I’ve entered this fun world!

So much has happened during those 2 months that I’ll be sharing with you as time goes on! But today I wanted to share with you our sweet little Caroline’s 2nd birthday pictures!

When the “plan Caroline’s birthday” notification popped up in our calendar back in October, yes, October, we knew we wanted to plan something fun and memorable for Caroline’s 2nd birthday–and we decided that a day at the Magic Kingdom would be the PERFECT way to spend her day! We opted out of having a party and put the money and energy we would have used for a party on a fun trip to Disney! And let me tell you we needed all the energy we could get!

Even though we weren’t having a party, I still wanted to have a theme for Caroline’s birthday. Last year we had a Winnie the Pooh theme. This year I thought of the phrase “Tangled Up at 2”! So began my journey of grabbing some fun Tangled themed items!

Our Tangled Gear!

Caroline’s shirt, my shirt, my ears, Caroline’s pants, Caroline’s bow, and Caroline’s birthday sign.

Our Day at the Magic Kingdom

Sit back hold tight and get ready for a fun magical day!

We started Caroline’s birthday with her waking up at 5:20 am! Crazy right?! I was worried about having to wake her up at 5:30 am because it’s just so early, but no, she woke up on her own! Sweet Caroline went straight to her pretend makeup kit that Aunt Emily gifted her for her birthday. She absolutely loves all things fancy and girly!

We were all ready to go by 6:15 am! So thankful we only live an hour from Disney! Lucky us!

We arrived before the park opened! This was so exciting! Before the park officially opens, they have a fun welcome ceremony where Mickey, Minnie and many of the Princesses perform on the castle stage. Caroline loved seeing them all so much that when we walked away to go to Fantasyland she started bawling her eyes out asking to see Mickey again. Bless her heart that was the only time she cried the entire day.

Our first stop was Peter Pan! We knew we wanted to jump on this ride while we could. We didn’t get a fast pass for it and we knew it would be over an hour wait if we decided to come back later. Since we were early, the wait was nothing, we kept moving in the line and hopped on one of the flying ships in no time!

When we got off Peter Pan we headed to Rapunzel’s area. A little secret–I think those are the best bathrooms in the whole park! lol!

Caroline saw the carousel and wanted to go on it so we did! She loves the one at Tampa Zoo so I knew she would love this one too.

We also had some entertainment while on the carousel! Cinderella’s stepsisters joined us and they were a riot! Disney does such a great job entertaining you wherever you are in the park!

Afterward, we met up with John’s parents. I was so excited that they were able to join us on this special day!

I knew I wanted Caroline to meet some of the Princesses while we were there but I was worried about how long the waits would be. We were so lucky, the longest we waited for any character was about 40 minutes. But since it was still so early in the morning we met 4 princesses under an hour!

First stop, Rapunzel! She was so sweet and Caroline even stood alone with her!

I just loved the way the princesses stayed in character!

After meeting Tiana Caroline was asking to meet Cinderella. So fun!

When we finished meeting the princesses in Fairytale Hall we headed over to Dumbo. This was one of those rides I wanted to have a picture with Caroline on. I remember pictures from when I was a little girl riding Dumbo with my mom and I wanted one to match with Caroline.

Once again she loved this ride and wanted more so off to Ariel’s ride and Ariel’s Grotto to meet Ariel.

Ariel was also just so sweet to little Caroline and Caroline was not afraid at all.

When we were done exploring a little under the sea life we headed to the Winnie the Pooh and the Pirates. Now I know, the Pirates is a little scary for a little one but we decided to try it out. Caroline was scared for almost the whole ride but sat perfectly still on my lap hiding behind my hand peaking out often. My father-in-law was so good to her telling her to peak at the animals on the ride. He made it super manageable for Caroline to look and not be afraid.

The Tiki Room was our next fun stop after getting her birthday pin. Caroline loved the talking birds. This is one of the easiest places in the park to go sit down and take a little rest while being entertained.

So I’m going to leave our day at that and post Part 2 tomorrow! Come back and check it out and while you’re at it sign up for my newsletter! I promise I won’t overload your inbox. Just a weekly newsletter with fun ideas and tips!

I hope you have a great Monday!! See you tomorrow!
