Where has time, gone!? Caroline is 20 months old!!! No longer in the teens for months! I can’t believe it! I’m so excited to share with you today a little about our sweet girl! She is growing and changing seriously every day! It’s rapid, it’s exciting, and it’s happening so fast!
Food
This girl is either really really picky or a really really good eater. It’s crazy and I don’t know what to expect at times but she always surprises me. Some days she just wants to eat spinach leaves straight from the salad bag or she only wants cheese and carbs. I’m always trying to sneak veggies in any way I can, mainly through smoothies.
Play
Caroline loves to play with other kiddos and outside. On our recent trip to Colorado, I think playing outside and playing on the big hotel bed were her favorite parts! It was so fun to watch her get so excited, especially being in a new place.
Sleep
Caroline loves her sleep. I’m so thankful that we worked hard when she was younger to teach her how to put herself to sleep because now for naps and nighttime I can lay her down and she falls to sleep on her own. She even did this in Colorado, we were so happy!
Language
This is Caroline saying “Why”. 🙂 She looked at John and I one day and after we were talking to her, she just said, “Why?” just like that with her hands up and all. We cracked up!
I can’t even begin to write how many words she knows now! It’s amazing! We are always telling her to say this, say that and she repeats it in the cutest little voice! I just love it! I think my favorite things she says are Hi baby to her baby doll, hi mama, hi dada, Elmo, Belle, 1,2,3, yellow, black, red, why, and cheese. This girl is babbling all the time, well when she feels comfortable. She definitely is not babbling around large groups, Caroline is a shy one. But when it’s just John, her, and me she is a talker.
things she loves
Caroline LOVES her baby doll! It’s usually the first thing we hear in the morning from her mouth, Hi, Baby! And she especially loves it when we say hi to baby too! She also loves her new Belle doll, it’s so cute! Her favorite movie currently is Tangled. She loves to watch it while mommy cooks dinner and I love it too!
things she doesn’t like
Hmmm…flying on an airplane for more than 3 hours. Caroline did really well on her first and second flight in her life but after that 2.5-3 hours, she just didn’t like it. She was fussy, uncomfortable, and so was I. She also is not a fan of getting in and out of the car many times in a row. She got to a point this past month where she just kept saying done, done in her car seat after being completely over it all.
funny happenings
Caroline is standing up a lot while holding onto something but she doesn’t like to sit back down on her own if it’s not on our bed. While on our bed playing she loves to stand up and plunk back down. It’s soo cute!
What’s going on in her world
We have recently stopped going to Physical Therapy. Long story short we were told she might need braces for her legs and before we dove into getting them, we decided to get a second opinion and went to see an Orthopedic Pediatric Surgeon and they said Caroline is perfectly fine and normal. She is just slower on the walking side of things. That’s it my friends! I couldn’t believe it! They said we could go to PT but it’s totally not necessary. I’m so thankful! We are so proud of our sweet Caroline and all the progress she’s making. I can’t wait to see when she will actually begin to walk. As the Surgeon said it will be in her own time.
